From Hintersee in Ramsau to Weißbach near Lofer in Austria

The Ramsau Alpine Experience Bus departs from the Klausbachhaus on Hintersee in the mountaineering village of Ramsau. The route winds past the numerous alpine pastures of the Klausbach Valley along the historic Salt Trail to the Hirschbichl border crossing and on to Weißbach near Lofer in the Salzburg Saalachtal.

Klausbach Valley: The Valley of Alpine Pastures and Eagles

Numerous alpine pastures line the route of the Almerlebnisbus or are accessible via a short walk. Examples include the Halsalm, the Ragertalm, and the Bindalm. The Hirschbichl Pass, with its mountain restaurant of the same name, marks the border between Germany and Austria. On the Austrian side, you can hike to the Litzlalm with its snack bar, the Kammerlingalm, and the Kallbrunnalm, which also has a snack bar! The Klausbach Valley is the valley of alpine pastures between Bavaria and Austria!

The Klausbach Valley in Ramsau am Hintersee is also known as the Valley of the Eagles. The Berchtesgaden National Park offers several opportunities for eagle watching, such as guided hikes or live footage at the Klausbachhaus, transmitted by a camera at an eagle’s nest. A new eagle observation station provides insights into the breeding, hunting, and soaring areas of golden eagles. Other attractions in the Klausbach Valley include the suspension bridge and the viewing platform at the wildlife feeding area; both of these destinations are accessible, making these unique nature experiencesenjoyable even for people with limited mobility.
