Tips for your mountain getaway

In the Berchtesgaden Alps, you’ll find everything from easy walking paths to demanding mountain routes that truly test your limits. If you’re planning your first mountain getaway—or getting ready to take on a more challenging tour—a few practical tips will help you prepare and make the most of your time in the mountains.

Alpine Information Service

You’ll want to answer a few key questions before you set out—about current weather conditions, trail status, or places to stop along the way. That’s exactly what the Berchtesgaden Alpine Information Service is here for. From Monday to Friday, between 4 and 6 pm, experienced alpine advisors take the time to personally answer your questions.

Berchtesgaden Mountain Guides

The Berchtesgaden Mountain Guides know these mountains like the back of their hand. They’ll introduce you to the region’s natural wonders, share their knowledge along the way—and make sure you return safely to the valley at the end of your tour.
