The visitor mine
Salt is still mined today at Berchtesgaden Salt Mine—just as it always has been, using sink works. As you enter the mine, you’ll learn how salt is extracted to this day. The visitor train takes you deep into the heart of the salt mountain along a 1,400-meter-long route. Before boarding, you’ll be given a traditional miner’s jumpsuit. Then, experience an underground adventure featuring unforgettable highlights, including the thrilling miners' slide and a boat ride across the underground Salt Lake.
