The tourist tax of the Bergerlebnis Berchtesgaden Association

The current tourist tax charged by the Bergerlebnis Berchtesgaden Association is per person and per night:

3.10 Euro for adults
1.55 Euro for children and teenagers
(as of March 2023)

The tourist tax is paid directly to your host.

The Bergerlebnis Berchtesgaden Guest Card

You’ll receive your Guest Card directly from your host. You can access your digital Guest Card before arrival via MAXL, your digital travel companion.

 

Easy, low-impact travel during your stay—free with your Berchtesgaden Guest Card

With your Guest Card, you travel free across the entire RVO bus network and by train throughout the region. Getting to Bad Reichenhall, Salzburg, the Rupertiwinkel, or even Lake Chiemsee is simple and stress-free—no traffic, no searching for parking.

A few services are excluded: the Kehlstein line, the ALMErlebnisBUS, routes to Salzburg, and the bus on the Rossfeld Panoramic Road. For these, you’ll need a separate ticket or pay a surcharge.

Important: Upon request, you must present a valid photo ID together with your Guest Card.

With your Guest Card, you’ll enjoy reduced admission at many of Berchtesgaden’s top attractions and sights—and even at select locations in the surrounding area. Simply show your (digital) Guest Card at the ticket desk and take advantage of the savings.

Tourist tax in the Rupertiwinkel region

The Rupertwinkel Guest Card

You’ll receive your personal Guest Card directly from your host upon arrival.

Anger
Adults: 0.60 Euro per night
Children from 9 years: 0.40 Euro per night
Children under 9 years, guests with a disability rating (GdB) of 50% or higher, and business travelers are exempt from the tourist tax.

Piding
Adults: 1 Euro
Children up to 12 years: free

Teisendorf
Adults (16 and over): 2 Euro
Children aged 6 to 15: 1 Euro
Children under 6 years: free

 

Soft mobility during your stay

If you’re staying in Piding and have the Piding Guest Card, you can use all public transportation throughout the Berchtesgadener Land free of charge. A few services are excluded: the Kehlstein line, the ALMErlebnisBUS, routes to Salzburg, and the bus on the Rossfeld Panoramic Road. For these, you’ll need a separate ticket or pay a surcharge.

With the Teisendorf Guest Card, you enjoy free travel on Bavarian Regiobahn (BRB) trains from Teisendorf to Salzburg and Traunstein and back. Excluded are S-Bahn services operated by ÖBB and Südostbayernbahn.
