The Klosterwirt is situated on the shores of the idyllic Lake Höglwörth, which is a popular excursion destination with its monastery, the Augustinian canons' monastery, the church and the Berchtesgaden and Salzburg Alps as a backdrop.
This traditional Bavarian inn has been located in the heart of the Rupertiwinkel region next to the Höglwörth monastery overlooking the picturesque Lake Höglwörth for 150 years.Committed to tradition, modernity and above all quality, the Klosterwirt offers you hearty, regional dishes with an international twist, and in this unique combination of traditional inn, postcard idyll, friendly hosts and freshly cooked delicacies, you will find it particularly tasty! With our own fish farm, in-house butchery and patisserie, everything from fish, meat and sausage specialties to cakes and pies is produced in-house and always freshly served on your table.

A Bavarian restaurant is of course nothing without a great beer, only 5 km away is the private brewery Wieninger and has been doing so for 350 years, quality & taste practically from the corner and in your glass with us.The rustic guest rooms, some with vaulted ceilings, can accommodate up to 120 people for food and drink. The large function room, the "Salettl", invites you to celebrate, dance and enjoy life with up to 150 people at the Klosterwirt. Your celebration - no matter what kind - is in the best hands at the Klosterwirt!
What would a Bavarian restaurant be without a proper beer garden with time-honored chestnut trees, a view of the glistening Höglwörther See and the monastery? It's a good place to be, life is good! Of course, you can also spend the night in our beautiful place - with a large vacation apartment (up to 8 people) and two double rooms, the Klosterwirt offers you the unique opportunity to stay at the Höglwörther See, the pearl of the Rupertiwinkel.
To escape the heat of the summer, you can cool off in the Höglwörther Seebad. If, contrary to expectations, the Höglwörther See does not provide the desired refreshment, you can make up for it with an ice cream or a freshly tapped beer at the adjoining kiosk.
