Varied loop trails lead you across the Bavarian and Salzburg high plateau, with welcoming mountain huts along the way. For a truly enjoyable experience, you should be sure-footed and comfortable with exposure. Be sure to pack plenty of drinking water—on the Untersberg’s karst plateau, natural springs are few and far between.
Six stages of summit moments and well-earned hut breaks. Book the “Summit Trail Hut Tour” package with the Berchtesgaden section of the German Alpine Club (DAV). The package includes three overnight stays in shared dorm-style sleeping quarters and can be reserved through the DAV hut booking portal up to 14 days before your tour begins.
