From Watzmann to the Three Peaks of Lavaredo

An Alpine Traverse with Bergschule Watzmann

Back in 2007, Ramsau-based mountain guide Hubert Nagl of the mountaineering school Bergschule Watzmann set out with a bold idea: an alpine traverse from Watzmann to the Three Peaks of Lavaredo. What began as a vision has since become a true classic—a seven-day hike across the Alps that continues to inspire.

Unlike other well-known crossings, such as the popular E5 long-distance trail, this route from Lake Königssee to South Tyrol remains refreshingly quiet—far from the crowds, and rich in authentic alpine experience.

My philosophy? To show my guests the true beauty of the mountains, help them reach their goals—and along the way, share the skills and knowledge that make mountaineering so rewarding.
