Rossfeld ski tour

Coming from Berchtesgaden, drive toward Salzburg and turn right at the sign for “Unterau – Rossfeld-Höhenringstraße.” After about six kilometers, you'll see Pechhäusl restaurant on your right. A few meters farther on, just before the toll station, you'll find a parking lot on the left where your ski tour begins.

Cross the road and head uphill alongside the ski slope. A yellow sign directs you right into the forest. Pass beneath Rossfeld Panorama Road through an impressive stone bridge, then follow a clearing with a gentle incline through the snow-covered woods until you reach the ski slope. Continue uphill along either edge of the slope to the summit cross at 1,537 meters above sea level.

For the descent, follow the ski slope past the valley station of the lower surface lift. After a flatter section, keep right and take the route known as “Alter Schlag” back to your starting point.

Tip: When snow conditions are good, you can also start your ski tour in Oberau. This adds more elevation gain, extends the ascent to up to 2.5 hours, and increases the route length to approximately five kilometers. Follow the ski slope uphill to the toll station.
