From the Jennerbahn valley station, head uphill for a short distance before turning right into the forest. Follow the Hochbahn trail through the woods toward Königsbachalm, enjoying breathtaking views down to Lake Königssee along the way. Continue climbing across the open alpine pastures, then keep left toward Königsbergalm. The final stretch is a steep ascent to the Jennerbahn summit station.

Alternative routes: You can also ascend via Schneibsteinhaus or head up to Carl-von-Stahl-Haus.

Directions

Your ski tour begins at the Königssee parking lot. From here, head to the Jennerbahn valley station and climb the first 150 meters of elevation gain. At a signpost, the ski touring route branches off to the right into the forest. The forest road that follows is known as Hochbahn and rewards you with several spectacular views down to Lake Königssee. Below Königsbachalm, the Hochbahn trail joins the forest road leading up to Königsbachalm.

After a particularly steep climb at the far end of the alpine pasture, turn left into the forest and follow the trail to Königsbergalm at approximately 1,600 meters above sea level. The Jennerbahn summit station is already in sight. Traverse the left side of the bowl-shaped Königsbergalm, climbing toward the summit station.

When snow conditions are good, you can descend via the marked ski route. This terrain is not groomed and is recommended only for highly experienced skiers.
