In winter, Oberau is your perfect gateway to the slopes. At the snow-reliable Rossfeld family ski area, ski schools and lifts make it easy to get started. Prefer cross-country skiing? Right in the village, you’ll find a trail with ideal conditions for both skating and classic style.

Traveling with family? The 1.2-kilometer toboggan run winds its way down into the village center—pure fun from top to bottom. Ready to aim higher on your first ski tour? Follow the clearly marked ascent route by the German Alpine Club (DAV) up to Rossfeld—it takes about two hours.
