Hintersee - Mordaualm - Bischofswiesen

Today’s stage starts at the Hintersee bus stop. Follow Triebenbachstraße uphill for a short distance, then turn left onto the König-Max-Weg toward Taubensee. After passing under the German Alpine Road, follow the forest road until, shortly before Mordaualm, you reach the turnoff for the Schmuckenstein loop trail. Take this trail for the next part of the climb.

The narrow trail winds around Schmuckenstein, with spectacular views of Watzmann, Hochkalter, and Reiter Alm along the way. Continue around the mountain until you reach the valley station of the Hochschwarzeck cable car. Take the gondola up to the summit, where one of the most spectacular views of the Berchtesgaden Alps awaits.

From here, hike up to Toter Mann, then follow the signs downhill below Götschenkopf toward Bischofswiesen train station. This is where today’s stage ends.
