Berchtesgaden National Park Information Center
At Haus der Berge, the permanent exhibition “Vertical Wilderness” awaits you. During the tour, you’ll discover the wildlife and nature of Berchtesgaden National Park:
- The full spectrum of life, from the bottom of Lake Königssee all the way to the peaks of the Berchtesgaden Alps
- The habitats of water, forest, alpine pastures, as well as rock and karst
- Sound and light displays that bring to life the unique moods of nature as the seasons change
The highlight of the exhibition is the mountain display case. At the end of the exhibition, its blinds open to reveal Watzmann, creating a striking connection between the recreated alpine world inside the exhibition and the real landscapes of Berchtesgaden National Park.
You'll also find a movie theater, Spiesberger’s Alpenküche restaurant, and special and rotating exhibitions. Admission to the movie theater, the special and rotating exhibitions, and the library is free.
