Sophie and her dad Wolfgang make guests of "Spiesberger's Alpenküche" feel right at home. Not only do they use many products such as cheese from the Schapbachalm in the Berchtesgaden National Park, but everything is lovingly prepared and cooked by hand according to their own and great-grandma's recipes. And you can taste it!
Alpine cuisine in the House of Mountains
The Alpenküch restaurant is located on the second floor of the Haus der Berge National Park Center. Entrance is via the exhibition or through the Bürgerplatz (directly opposite the police station). Spiesberger's Alpenküche is accessible to you independently of the exhibition, without admission and barrier-free. Of course, a stop at Sophie's is obligatory after your visit to the House of Mountains.
The Watzmann praline
The famous Watzmann praline is a special souvenir. Wolfgang Spiesberger came up with the idea for this sweet Berchtesgaden souvenir more than 20 years ago during a ski tour in the Berchtesgaden mountains. In the face of the legendary Watzmann, the confectioner thought to himself:"The sweet and pleasant sides of Berchtesgaden should melt in your mouth", and so the idea for the Watzmann praline was born. The Watzmann praline quickly became a celebrity and television, BR, NDR, WDR etc. often visited the Spiesbergs' bakery to watch the chef at work and find out the secret of this delicacy. But it's not just a matter of skill; a great deal of love and a sense of home naturally also go into the work.
Spiesberger's Alpenküche is a National Park Berchtesgade partner.
