Mittereisalm

Located above Bindalm in the Klausbach valley—the Valley of the Eagles and Alpine Pastures in Berchtesgaden National Park—Mittereisalm is an unstaffed alpine pasture. During the summer months, the only residents you'll encounter are young cattle grazing on the high mountain pastures.

Mittereisalm: High mountain pasture of Bindalm

Mittereisalm serves as high-altitude pastureland for the farming family of Bindalm. From the Hirschbichl stop on the ALMErlebnisBUS route, it’s about a one-hour hike to the unstaffed Mittereisalm.

Trail to Kammerlinghorn

The mountain hike takes you past Mittereisalm to Kammerlinghorn, an impressive 2,484-meter-high peak in the Hochkalter massif. For the ascent, you should have mountaineering experience, be sure-footed, and, above all, be in good physical condition. From Bindalm or from Hirschbichl, you can reach Kammerlinghorn in about four hours.
