Mordaualm is a rewarding destination year-round. In winter, strap on your snowshoes and discover this scenic Alpine pasture in the mountaineering village of Ramsau!

Follow the forest road uphill through dense woodland until you reach the open Alpine meadows. The trail climbs steadily in a wide loop, gradually gaining elevation until the snow-covered huts of Mordaualm come into view. Here, take in magnificent views of Reiter Alm, Hochkalter, and the wide-open landscape around Taubensee, a district of Ramsau.

Directions

From the Kaltbach parking lot on the B 305, follow the cleared winter hiking trail toward Jagdhaus Pfaffenthal. There, turn right onto a forest road and climb steadily through the dense winter forest. Gradually, the trees begin to thin out until you emerge onto the wide-open Alpine meadows.

Here, the trail from the Taubensee parking lot joins your route. Continue uphill in a wide loop, steadily gaining elevation. Before long, you'll catch your first glimpse of your destination: the rustic alpine pasture huts of Mordaualm.

Once you reach the top, you'll be rewarded with magnificent views of Reiter Alm and Hochkalter, as well as the sweeping landscape around Taubensee, a district of Ramsau. A wonderful reward for your climb!
