- Ramsau
Rushing waterfalls, narrow rocky passages, countless streams, lush carpets of moss, and a refreshing escape on hot summer days: Wimbachklamm Gorge offers an unforgettable nature experience along bridges and wooden walkways. Nestled between Mount Watzmann and Mount Hochkalter at the entrance to Wimbach Valley, you'll discover one of the region's most impressive natural landmarks.
At the entrance to the vast high-alpine valley between Mount Watzmann and Mount Hochkalter, near the mountaineering village of Ramsau, lies the narrow Wimbachklamm Gorge. While the upper Wimbachtal valley, known as Wimbachgries, is covered in dry gravel and the water flows underground, the mountain stream bursts back to the surface in Wimbachklamm Gorge. Here, it thunders over steep waterfalls and plunges through the narrow rocky ravine. Follow bridges and wooden walkways right into the heart of this spectacular natural wonder.
