Stubenalm

Above Schapbachalm, Stubenalm lies on the slopes of Watzmann. You can reach the alpine pasture in about two hours by following the well-known trail to Watzmannhaus from either Wimbachbrücke in Ramsau, Germany's first Mountaineering Village, or the Hammerstiel hiking parking area in Schönau.

Alpine pasture below Watzmannhaus

Stubenalm is located below Watzmannhaus. On the standard trail to Watzmannhaus, you’ll pass right by the alpine pasture. It’s worth taking a break here: you’ll find a truly idyllic alpine setting and a magnificent view of Ramsau toward Reiter Alm and Hochschwarzeck.

The trail continues to Watzmannhaus, first passing the operating Mitterkaseralm and then the non-operating Falzalm. At Stubenalm, you’ll find two alpine pasture huts, known as Kaser, as well as a service hut.

Mountain biking to Stubenalm

The Stubenweg is open to cyclists from the Schapbach intersection to Stubenalm. Beyond Stubenalm, cycling toward Watzmannhaus is not permitted.

Please note: Violations of the cycling ban at Berchtesgaden National Park are generally punishable by a fine.
