Most visitors to the Eagle's Nest use the spectacular bus route from the departure point on the Obersalzberg. But you can also reach the panoramic mountain on foot. A signposted hiking trail leads from Rossfeldstraße along a paved side road to the former teahouse of the Nazi diplomats.

The last few meters to the former teahouse of the Nazi diplomats are on paved serpentines.The Kehlsteinhaus is one of the most visited excursion destinations in Bavaria: the mixture of historical monument and exceptional geographical location acts as a crowd puller, the English name Eagle's Nest arouses curious expectations. The Kehlsteinhaus can also be reached by bus via the Kehlsteinstraße. The imposing high mountain road is carved out of solid rock and overcomes 700 meters in altitude with just one hairpin bend. The road has been closed to private traffic since 1952 and is only used by RVO buses. The bus departure point is located next to the Obersalzberg Documentation Center and the Kempinski Hotel Berchtesgaden.
