The Alpine town of Bad Reichenhall is the ideal starting point for the Slowbike bike tour: Past the Royal Spa Garden and the RupertusTherme, the route leads along the banks of the Saalach to Hausmoning (Ainring) and further uphill to Högl. The view of Salzburg and the surrounding area is impressive and rewards all the efforts of the sometimes steep gravel passages. After a pleasant descent, you reach Anger and soon after the Höglwörthersee lake with its collegiate church.
The cycle route, characterised by forests and meadows, leads flat to Teisendorf and on to Gumperting. After a hilly ride along the Sur, you reach the picturesquely situated Surspeicher, where the mountain scenery is reflected in the sunshine. Not far from Schönram, the trail leads through the Schönramer Filz. Across large meadows you then reach the Abtsdorfer See lake. Along the lake, the cycle path soon joins the connecting road and continues to Laufen. The route continues to the Salzach bridge, over which you continue cycling to Oberndorf, thus reaching Austria and the province of Salzburg.
