Head straight from town up into the fresh mountain air! The Obersalzbergbahn takes you on a relaxing ride up to the hiking area at Obersalzberg. Once you reach the top, you can set out on your hike right away, take a stroll to the Hochlenzer summer toboggan run, or stop for a bite to eat at one of the restaurants.
The mountains are calling—and the Obersalzbergbahn takes you comfortably up the mountain! This historic cable car, built in 1949, takes you to an altitude of about 1,000 meters with minimal effort. Here you can enjoy the fresh mountain air and explore Obersalzberg on numerous hiking trails.
Summer toboggan run at Obersalzberg
From the Obersalzbergbahn’s mountain station, it’s just 100 meters to the 600-meter-long Hochlenzer summer toboggan run. Three steep turns, six gentler turns, and two jumps created by built-in bumps are sure to get your adrenaline pumping.
Winter at Obersalzberg
In winter, take the whole family sledding down the natural sledding run—you can rent sleds on site. Or spend a winter day at the Gutshof-Obersalzberg family ski area, with five lifts and 2.6 kilometers of groomed slopes. There’s also a ski and snowboard school with equipment rentals.
Follow Carl-von-Linde-Weg to historic sites
With hardly any elevation gain, Carl-von-Linde-Weg leads you across Obersalzberg. Along the way, you can stop at several restaurants and learn more about the history of Obersalzberg. It’s only about two kilometers to Obersalzberg Documentation Center and the bus departure point for the Eagle’s Nest. Or continue hiking to the Jennerbahn mid-station and take the cable car back down to the valley.
