Bavaria and Austria: Connected by salt
The village of Dürrnberg lies above Hallein, on the border between Salzburg and the Berchtesgaden region. Centuries of salt mining have forged a close connection between Dürrnberg and Berchtesgaden, and the village remains a popular destination for day trips today.
