At “An der Schießstätte” ice rink in Berchtesgaden, you can enjoy ice skating on well-maintained ice in any weather. The rink is especially family-friendly, with a family pass as well as skate rentals and skating aids for beginners. For a limited time, the rink even opens in summer, giving you a chance to train for the winter season.
Eisbären Berlin at Berchtesgaden Ice Rink
Berchtesgaden Ice Rink isn’t just popular with recreational skaters and amateur hockey players—professional teams train here, too. In 2019, Eisbären Berlin held a training camp in Berchtesgaden and used “An der Schießstätte” ice rink for their training sessions. The professional hockey team from the German capital returned in February 2020 for another short training camp at the rink.
Special Olympics Germany at Berchtesgaden Ice Rink
During the Special Olympics Germany National Winter Games in Berchtesgaden from March 2 to 6, 2020, Berchtesgaden Ice Rink was one of the competition venues. Athletes with and without intellectual disabilities competed here in figure skating and short track speed skating. The outdoor area in front of the rink also hosted the ice stock sport competitions.
