On the way to Steiner Alm
Moar Alm sits at an elevation of 817 meters on a gently sloping terrace along the northern side of Hochstaufen, Piding's local mountain. A wide trail leads up from Piding-Urwies to Moar Alm. The same route also provides access to the Piding via ferrata before continuing on to Steiner Alm. Mountain bikers can reach the alm via Mountain Bike Tour 21: Steiner Alm Loop.
Moar Alm is no longer used for agricultural purposes and is not staffed or operated. The land surrounding the hut is leased to the Berg- und Sportfreunde Feldkirchen association. Once a year, on the Saturday after the summer solstice, a mountain Mass is celebrated at the Baumannkreuz. Afterward, visitors gather at the hut for the traditional Almfest.
