Ligoascht - Ligeretalm

Ligoascht, as locals call Ligeretalm, is a self-catering hut at the foot of Kehlstein. Members of DAV Section Berchtesgaden can rent the alpine hut for overnight stays.

Below the Eagle’s Nest

You’ll find Ligeretalm on the slopes of the Hoher Göll massif. Several hundred meters above, the world-famous Eagle’s Nest, Hitler’s mountaintop retreat, sits high on Kehlstein. The quickest way to reach Ligoascht is from Scharitzkehlalm, an alpine pasture and mountain restaurant that is also accessible by car. You can also bike up to Ligoascht, for example as part of the BGL Bike Loop South.

Above Scharitzkehl

Below Ligeretalm lies Scharitzkehlalm. Stop at the Scharitzkehlalm mountain restaurant on Carl-von-Linde-Weg at Obersalzberg for a relaxing break. In winter, you can explore the alpine meadows of Scharitzkehl on the high-altitude cross-country ski trail, whether you prefer classic or skate skiing.
