With dedication and passion, Gertraud Gafus and her partner run Fürmannalm on Irlberg near Anger.

Fürmannalm mountain farm

A steep road leads from Anger up to Fürmannalm at an elevation of 861 meters, the highest farm in the village. From here, you can enjoy fantastic views across Anger and the Rupertiwinkel region. At Fürmannalm, you’ll discover organic mountain farming, Pinzgauer cows—an old cattle breed—the fascinating world of bees, and a large farm garden. As you explore the farm, you can sample regional specialties along the way, from salami made with the farm’s own Pinzgauer beef to bread with honey and fresh herbs from the garden.

Fürmannalm mountain restaurant

After a tour of the farm, refuel with a stop at the small mountain restaurant. The menu features products from the farm’s own fields and garden, organically grown, regionally sourced, and fair-trade.

A visit to Fürmannalm gives you an insight into the values of traditional farming and the ecological connections found in nature. You can also combine your visit with a hike to the surrounding alpine pastures, Lake Frillensee, or an alpine tour up Hochstaufen and Zwiesel.
