Kneifelspitze mountain restaurant

Paulshütte, better known as the mountain restaurant Berggaststätte Kneifelspitze, sits at an elevation of 1,188 meters on the summit of Kneifelspitze, a foothill of Untersberg. Thanks to its freestanding location, you can enjoy sweeping views of Berchtesgaden and Watzmann in one direction and all the way to Salzburg in the other.

Hike up from Maria Gern

The shortest route to Kneifelspitze starts at the famous Maria Gern pilgrimage church and follows a steep but easy forest road to Paulshütte. Allow about 1.5 hours for the climb. Another popular route leads from the Berchtesgaden Salt Mine to Kneifelspitze.
