Stunning views along Ramsauer Almerlebnisweg
Mordaualm sits at an elevation of 1,200 meters in the Lattengebirge mountain range. Three farming families—two from the mountaineering village of Ramsau and one from Bischofswiesen—manage the Kaser, the traditional alpine huts, on Mordaualm. From the Taubensee parking area, you can reach Mordaualm on foot or by mountain bike in a short time.
Ramsauer Almerlebnisweg
The Ramsauer Almerlebnisweg trail is one of the most scenic hikes in the Lattengebirge mountain range. The trail takes you across three alpine pastures: Mordaualm, Lattenbergalm, and Moosenalm. Along the way, 13 interpretive panels, installed with support from Bergbauernmilch Molkerei Piding, share fascinating insights into the history of the region's alpine pastures.
Another popular hike to Mordaualm circles Schmuckenstein. Starting at Ramsau Hochschwarzeck, the route follows the gentle slopes of Schmuckenstein through beautiful mountain forest before reaching Mordaualm. The trail then loops back to the starting point on the opposite side of the mountain. It's a true hidden gem.
