Hiking Paradise

Throughout the year a network of well-signposted, groomed walking paths and climbing routes make for pleasant and relaxing strolls or awe-inspiring and exhilarating mountain hikes for both the occasional hiker and the experienced mountain-goat extremist alike.

The Berchtesgaden area has a number of high mountain huts that offer more than just refreshments to the passing hiker: overnighting in private rooms, as well as in dormitories in possible at very low prices.

This is one of the very best ways of getting away from it all: no phones, no electricity, getting close to the overwhelming power of nature. Huts are open in summer only.
